What can MCP offer health service managers?
- The program assists maternity teams to maintain the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to manage clinical situations in line with their maternity service’s capability level.
- MCP will enable health service managers to identify and forward plan learning and development opportunities for staff, which occurs at a time that suits both the base health service and the midwife/nurse.
- Health service managers can select from a range of experiences depending on the need of the health service.
- Clinical facilitation fees, wages, accommodation, and travel allowance are incurred by MCP for the duration of the placement.
- Maternity Connect can assist to assess and prioritise the clinical needs for a specific service, negotiate a relevant placement for a midwife/nurse, define the learning objectives and evaluate the impact of the placement on the rural midwifery team. MCP in conjunction with Western Health have developed the necessary Human Resources agreements to support the placements.
