What can MCP offer midwives/nurses?
The Maternity Connect Program supports maternity services identify key priorities for their workforce and assists professional development through clinical exposure placements.
Maternity Connect is encouraging engagement from public regional and rural health services.
Registered midwives/nurses working in neonatal services, employed on a permanent or casual basis are eligible to apply.
Eligible participants can expect
5 day clinical exposure placement
(eligible up to 10 days per year)
Clinical support/facilitation from the hosting health service
5 days wages
Travel allowance
Accommodation
(if required)
Pre-requisites
You will be required to attach the pre-requisite documentation as part of the application process.
AHPRA Registration
Midwives/nurses must hold a current AHPRA registration and have actively participated in maternity clinical service delivery in the last 6 – 12 months
Hand Hygiene Certificate
Valid hand hygiene certificate.
Working with Children Check
Current Working with Children’s Check.
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
Valid COVID-19 proof of vaccination.
Police Check National Crime Check
A police check is needed prior to the commencement of a placement.
Important
A police check is only needed once a placement has been organised. Maternity Connect will cover this cost upon application. Results are emailed to Maternity Connect.
